What we do

The Fox is a pub in the heart of the community, with a welcoming bar, a spacious dining room overlooking a walled garden and six luxurious bedrooms.

Our pub is also part of Daylesford Organic farm, one of the most sustainable farms in the UK. The principles that have guided Daylesford farm for over 40 years are also at the heart of everything that we do at The Fox. We are passionate about using local, seasonal ingredients in our kitchen, to handmade horsehair mattresses in our bedrooms, we take pride in providing our guests with a memorable experience.

Chef de Partie

Full-time contract, average 48 hours per week, salary up to £30,000 per annum DOE, including tronc

Live-in accommodation is available if required.

 

About you

As a Chef de Partie, you will be able to execute all dishes as per menu specs. Ideally, you’ll have worked with fresh food, in a pub restaurant environment before or you’ll just simply have a passion for food so that the basics come easily to you.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Execute all dishes as per menu specs.
  • Deliver daily mis en place requirements.
  • Ensure kitchen audit requirements are adhered to
  • Sharing your knowledge and passion for food with your team
  • Ensure your section is fully set for the next day with fresh MEP
  • Comply with the kitchen health and safety procedures and highlight any issues to Sous or Head Chef.

 

Your natural confidence will enable you to give calm and clear instruction during busy periods. You’ll be very organised and able to seamlessly coordinate your station.

Front Of House Team Members

Full-time and part-time contracts available, the hourly rate is £10 per hour, plus service charge. Availability to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends is required in these opportunities.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Delivering outstanding customer service and exceeding guest expectations
  • Ensure the restaurant is set up for every meal period, respecting the restaurant-specific standards
  • Ensure that all work equipment, crockery, cutlery and glassware, are always perfectly polished and in good conditions, and stocked where they need to be
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all dishes and beverages on the menu, being able to bring them “to life” in conversation with guests, and to be aware of all potential allergens
  • Keep a constant attentive eye to the timing and flow of service at your tables, highlighting any delays to your manager
  • Ensure all bills presented to the guests are correct, and are cashed off correctly

Housekeeper

Full & Part-time contracts available, salary is £10.00ph – £11.00ph. Our busiest days are Sundays and Mondays due to departing guests, therefore it would be advantageous that you will be able to work 1 day at the weekend. We are happy to discuss flexible hours across the 7-day operation.

 

Main responsibilities

  • You will clean the rooms daily ensuring the highest of standards are met.
  • You’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests using our beautiful rooms and cottages.

Night Porter

Full time contract, average 45 hours per week, salary £11.00ph, shifts are 10pm – 7am

 

About you

As our Night Porter you will responsible for the rooms at The Fox and will ensure a high level of guest service is provided during the night shift, addressing guest queries in a professional and timely manner. You’ll possess a “never say no” attitude and constantly strive to exceed expectations. You will actively monitor the safety and security of the sites, escalating any incidents is necessary.

 

Main responsibilities

  • To ensure the security and safety of our staff and guests on during the night shift (10pm – 6am.)
  • To work with The Fox, TWR, Daylesford and Security teams to ensure essential information is relayed accurately and immediately to all concerned.
  • To be the team and guest liaison for each area of the business over the night shift; ensure records are accurate and give Duty Management support in all required areas as business dictates.
  • Always work in line with The Fox’s service culture and communicate fully with all relevant departments
  • Complete the Night Audit, checking guest bills are accurate, all signed guest checks

Restaurant Waiting Staff

Full-time and part-time contracts available, the hourly rate is £10.00 per hour Plus service charge. Availability to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends is required in these opportunities.

 

About you

As Waiting Staff, you’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests at all times. You will ensure the smooth efficient running of service throughout the restaurant and will go the extra mile for our customers in ensuring a fantastic experience.

 

It would be advantageous to have previous experience, although all candidates will be considered who have had positions in a similar role.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure the restaurant is set up for service, respecting the restaurant-specific standards
  • You will assist with the duties of the bar, making coffee’s/ tea’s- ideally you will be Barista trained or similar
  • Delivering outstanding customer service and exceeding guest expectations
  • Ensure that all work equipment, crockery, cutlery and glassware, are always perfectly polished and in good conditions, and stocked where they need to be
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all dishes and beverages on the menu, being able to bring them “to life” in conversation with guests, and to be aware of all potential allergens
